The remaining artworks from Four and Twenty Artists were collected on Saturday to make space for the Cloak of Invisibility event on Sunday.
Carolyn Griffiths, and her helpers, transformed the chapel for a day of storytelling – from ancient history to the present day. Woven around the theme of woad, the tales were both entertaining and educational and the blue theme continued throughout the day with faces decorated in indigo paints, scones with blueberry jam and blue jeans laid out for embellishment.
The event was organised to raise funds for the Disabled Story Tellers Group in Frome and Carolyn was pleased with the generous voluntary donations from audience members.
I returned on Sunday evening to lock up with Marianne and the space suddenly felt a little empty. Having accommodated the work of twenty-four artists, followed by an eventful family day of weaving and storytelling, the chapel is now resting in preparation for this weekend’s dance extravaganza Sirocco.
There will be dance workshops between 9.30 and 4pm on Saturday and Sunday plus a meditteranean/ middle eastern banquet and dance showcase on Saturday night. For tickets and more information, see website: http://www.siroccofestival.org.uk/
