Passamezzo specialise in Elizabethan and Jacobean music. Their concerts have a theatrical air created by a mix of costume, readings and distinct style of delivery.  The five-strong ensemble delights in everything from intimate lute songs to broadside ballads, from sacred music to profane bedlamite rant. Their programmes are meticulously researched,  and ‘In Peascod Time’ (words and music for summer) is a collection from the England of the 16th and 17th centuries.  Passamezzo’s accessible manner of presentation and sense of fun make this an ideal festival concert for a summer’s evening.
