SMTS (formerly known as Strode Music Theatre Society) present an evening of varied music from stage and screen with something for every taste.  With music ranging through the years –  from Gilbert and Sullivan, through Hair and Blood Brothers, Lloyd Webber and Sting to Disney and Les Miserables and sung by a full four part choir of about 35 singers and interspersed with solos, duets and poetry.

The choir, which evolved from Strode Opera, has been performing throughout Somerset and Dorset for many years, supporting local and national charities, and are delighted to visit Frome itself for the first time in aid of Mendip YMCA.

“Mendip YMCA has been delivering a range of services including outreach, homeless prevention, housing and youth work in Frome and across Mendip for the past 20 years.

Routes delivers a drop in centre for information advice and guidance and a small youth café and is based within the Foyer which provides homes with support for young people.We have also taken on the management of Coleford Youth Club and Frome Youth & Community Centre to help retain services that had been under threat of closure.

We rely heavily on the support of our local community to continue to ensure that young people have warm, welcoming places in which to belong, contribute and thrive.”
