The Lords of Thyme with support from Sara Vian + Feral Beryl
Thursday 27th November
Doors at 7pm // Performance from 7:30pm
The Lords of Thyme came together after Joe Woolley, Tali Trow and Pat Kenneally wandered out through the wyrd wicker revolving door of Michael Tyack’s Circulus and headed for the city to create something more urbane. Joined by the angel-voiced Michelle Griffiths, in short order they produced an EP and a 7” vinyl single mixed by John Wood (Fairport Convention, Nick Drake), garnering a volley of positive reviews.
“With such a promising debut single the Lords of Thyme are a band really worth following.” – Alex Gallacher, Folk Radio UK
“A dreamlike sound that can only be described as traditionally English.” – Daithi Sabhaois, Shindig! Issue 39
“It’s the Woolley originals that offer the most promise, from The Trembling Bells play Sam Cooke Hammond textures of Moment To Moment, the decidedly Hot Vultures English blues-with-a-fiddle of World In A Tangle, to the John Martynesque If I Was A Bird.” – Steve Hunt, fRoots

“A dynamic singer with a deep & rich timbre, writing poignant & thought-provoking songs.”

“Feral Beryl are variously, occasionally, in part or in whole, more than (but never less than) the beating of the excitingly unique and musically feral hearts of Sue Clare and Gemma White. Privileged to be joined by good friends and great musicians as the songs and times conjure up new and special moments, the Beryls promise to emerge from their individual (and/or collective) musical undergrowths with performances wild with originality, joyfulness, poignancy and energy.”
