Mr Rook’s Speak Easy & Openstorytellers Present: The Storyteller’s Bardic Chair of Somerset
Thursday 20th October
Doors 7pm//Start 7.30pm
The Storytelling competition organised by Openstorytellers is back! Eight tellers compete for the Bardic Chair with the winner chosen by the Fates – last year they picked the MC who wasn’t even competing, who will they choose this year?
MC for the evening will once again be Taffy Thomas, first ever Storytelling Laureate and patron of Openstorytellers.
Take part…
If you’d like to take part, please come along to tell a story!
Tellers of all abilities are invited to tell a traditional or original story from memory. They could also recite a poem or sing a song but they must either be traditional, with no known author, or original (the tellers’ own work) and unpublished.
Each slot is seven-minutes long and tellers will be performing to the audience of storytelling club Mr Rook’s Speak Easy. All are welcome to take part and professional performers will be alternated with first-time tellers. The twist is that thanks to the unique judging system anyone can win.
To book yourself a slot, or for more information, contact Mr Rook’s director directly Lisa Kenwright here.
