With the end of 2011 nearly upon us and the dawning of the new year just around the corner – it’s time to reflect on the past year and make plans for the next one.
2011 at Rook Lane has been vibrant and varied – and 2012 promises to be yet more jam-packed with art exhibitions and events.
Here are some of my highlights…
The Four and Twenty Artists exhibition in March. This exhibition welcomed me warmly into my new role as arts coordinator:

Beautiful and charismatic – Martha Tilston is the most angelic vocalist on the folk scene. She put on a seriously impressive acoustic performance in the chapel.
Professor Bruce Hood delivered a fantastic lecture on the supernatural (or lack of) and managed to reshape the way I see the world – possibly permanently:
The Blue II exhibition, as part of Somerset Art Weeks, brought hundreds of art-lovers to the gallery. Duncan Elliot’s sculptures wowed all who were lucky enough to see them:
Helen Barrett’s sellout jazz gig caused musical ripples through Frome’s music scene:
And to end 2011 – Bath Camerata choir came to Rook Lane and sung their hearts out to a full audience:
