The air is buzzing with the energy of the 23 exhibitors who are filling Rook Lane with their art. Artists 303 are a Somerset-based art collective who have been practising and exhibiting for 45 years – with old members leaving and newer replacements bringing their own style to the group.
Their work spans painting, printmaking, sculpture and photography and is really quite varied.
The clanking of the ladder and the gentle hum of instructions being called from down below have made rather nice background noise whilst I’ve been tapping away in my foyer-office. The suspense remains high as the artists straighten and rearrange paintings, attaching name tags and adding the finishing touches.
It really is very satisfying to watch this grand open space gradually fill with colour and paint and patterns and textures.
The private view is tomorrow between 6-8pm. Come and check out the exhibition and meet the artists.
