For those who haven’t had the pleasure of experiencing the mind-blowing acoustics of Rook Lane – it is imperative that you come to see some live music here. With an intimate audience of 150 (seated) – melodies and percussion gush from the altar stage all the way out to the arched chapel windows and the high-domed roof.
Rook Lane has hosted many a wonderful classical concert over the years and continues to fill the chapel to capacity with the Coffee and Teatime concerts. (Next one: Sónia Grané and Tiago Gomes de Matos, Sunday 8 May @ 6pm. See here for details.)
Long may these incredible performances continue.
But there is also space for different genres of music. Folk singer Martha Tilston will be blessing the gallery with her dreamy vocals on June 16 (tickets here!)
And I’ve just been told about Ed Sheeran who is my Friday Favourite. This guy would ROCK Rook Lane:
Rook Lane manages to be grand and spacious but also warm and cosy. For music – it’s like no other venue I’ve ever been to.
