Six weeks have passed since I entered the Rook Lane massive to take up the arts coordinator role. In this time, the chapel has been home to two art exhibitions, a dance weekend, a retro market, a classical concert, a family event and a Brown Bag Lunch talk. The creative network in Frome is explosive. There are non-stop updates of markets/ gigs/ exhibitions/ theatre shows/ pop-up restuarants and now: a pop-up art exhibition. See here for more details.
Frome, this little pocket of West Country culture, is a somewhat hidden gem. With the Frome Festival (see here) packing the town for a week in July with comedy, theatre, music, dance, talks and exhibitions – and an array of arty venues hosting year-round shows and performances -in Frome; c’est la belle vie!
