This will be my first Frome Festival at Rook Lane Chapel and it’s shaping up to be a good one. It’s very busy here this week, with two new exhibitions being installed as well as the stage set for a week on concerts and performances.
This week we will have a huge range of musicians, artists, poets and performers pass through the chapel – with each night different from the last. We have such stragne delights as skiffle-jazz from Ausralia’s festival favourites Flap!, contemporary classical from North Sea Radio Orchestra, and musical story-telling from Opus Anglicanum. We are also hosting old favourites Hank Wangford and Brad Breath performing their seasoned repertoire of british country music, as well as BBC 3 presenter and nationally acclaimed poet, Ian McMillan.
Break 3 will be in residence in the cafe throughout the festival, showcasing “Summing Up!” the culmination of a year’s worth of creative numbers projects. The acclaimed Association of Photographers exhibition will also be on display in the chapel, offering a chance to see the winners of the 28th AOP Annual Awards.
In the run up to the festival I will be posting here about the amazing acts performing here each night….
Looking forward to seeing you all!
