More churches were built in the 1960s than in any decade since the 1860s. They responded to new building techniques, but even more to new ideas in church planning and decoration.
Join architectural historian Elain Harwood for a fascinating look at modernist churches.
About the speaker:
Elain Harwood is a historian with Historic England, formerly part of English Heritage, and made a pioneering study of modern churches for the Twentieth Century Society Journal.
