Character Comedian Rose Wadham presents…Life Fright
Friday 21st June
doors 7pm Performance 7.30pm
Rose wrote her first rock opera at the age of 5 and performed it for her teddies in the airing cupboard. She later went on to train as an actress at the Drama Centre, London and, represented by Chris Niel of ICM, she performed on the London stage, including for Sir Peter Hall at the Old Vic and Phil Wilmott at the BAC where she took the title role in Germaine Greer’s adaptation of Lysistrata and won excellent reviews. Rose then fell madly in love, hung up her codpiece and eloped to Spain where she and her lover (now husband) founded yoga retreats in Europe and the UK (www.kaliyoga.com). After a decade of introversion and armed with a mine of material from the alternative world, Rose returned to script writing and performing her own comic material, including devised theatre pieces. In recent years she has performed stand-up comedy, character sketches and cabaret for a variety of audiences. Her TV script, Kings Road, co-created with her sister – the author Lucy Wadham – was the winner of the C21 Scriptwriting Competition which is part of the C21 International Drama Summit at the British Film Institute. Kings Road is currently in development with eOne and Blue Bear Productions. Rose is looking forward to performing her character comedy show ‘Life Fright!’ – making darkly comic light of the terrible life choices made by 5 extraordinary characters – at Rook Lane in June
