Coffee Concerts: Rachel Podger

Rachel’s performances and recordings of J. S. Bach, both solo and orchestral, have long set the benchmark for the interpretation and performance style of this legendary composer. BBC Music Magazine described her recent Bach Doubles and Triples CD in glowing terms: “Podger’s Bach has always been special: this is indispensable.” Rachel’s affinity with the composer and his repertoire make for intoxicating performances do not miss this glorious chance to hear solo Bach in the intimacy of Rook Lane Chapel.
She will be performing
Bach, Johann Sebastian: Cello Suite 1 in G Major BWV 1007 (transposed into D Major for violin)
Bach, Johann Sebastian: Cello Suite 2 in D minor BWV 1008 (transposed into A minor for violin)
Bach, Johann Sebastian: Cello Suite 3 in C Major BWV 1009 (Transposed into G Major for violin)
