Frome Kindness Festival: Daytime
Saturday 15th March
midday to 4pm
Frome Grief Network warmly invites you for a cosy day at Rook Lane Chapel. Join us in our ‘sitting room’ for 3 lovely events, focusing on different aspects of grief, or pop in for an informal hearty soup lunch, cake and a chat with people who offer grief support in the Frome area. You are welcome to come for the whole day, or choose the events that most interest you.
12noon: Walking Beside Grief: How to support the bereaved Grief can feel overwhelming—not just for those experiencing it, but for the people who want to support them. In this interactive workshop, Melina Robinson (Counsellor, Frome Birth Talk) will guide us through ways to talk to and be there for someone who is grieving, offering practical tools and compassionate insights.
1pm: Soup & Chat: Warm Food, Open Conversations Join us for a comforting lunch and relaxed conversations with others who truly ‘get it.’ Meet local people offering support with grief and loss, discover groups and services in Frome, and browse a thoughtful selection of grief-related books from Hunting Raven. All this, with gentle live music from much-loved local musicians—and of course, plenty of tea, coffee, and cake. We’d love to see you there.
2pm Launch of the Frome Grief Network by the Mayor, Andy Jones
2.15pm Stories of life and loss Three local people share their personal experiences of grief, offering insight into the challenges, changes, and unexpected moments of meaning that come with loss. Join us for an open and heartfelt conversation about this universal human experience. A conversation facilitated by Stuart Dalton.
3.45pm Dying Matters: Grief listening circle A gentle, supportive space to share your own personal experiences of grief and loss—or simply to listen. No ‘fixing,’ no advice—just a compassionate space where you can be yourself, held in understanding, as you navigate the complexities of grief in your own way. With Neil Croom and Melanie Dalton
