Frome Stop the War Campaign presents “Drones: Convenient Killing and the Playstation Mentality” a talk by Chris Cole founder of ‘Drone Wars UK’. and Ian Chamberlain, Campaigns and Media officer of the National Stop the War Coalition
Chris Cole is a noted authority on, and campaigner against, armed drones and their use by the US and its allies, including our own country. “We claim moral superiority over the US on drone deaths, yet a wall of silence surrounds our own record.” He says. RAF Waddington in Lincolnshire is now the base for the UK deployment of drones.
Ian Chamberlain will be discussing the drone strikes in Gaza, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia, Libya and other conflict zone. Ian is the campaigns and media officer of the National Stop the War Coalition. He is a writer, researcher and social & political commentator with credits in the Guardian and BBC among many. He has led many workshops including for ‘Quaker Peace and Social Witness’ and regularly speaks on behalf of the National Stop the War Coalition.
