Andy Cutting / Sam Sweeney / Rob Harbron :: Leveret
Friday 20th February
Doors at 7pm // Performance from 7:30pm
Leveret features three of England’s finest folk musicians in an exciting new collaboration. Andy Cutting, Sam Sweeney – recently nominated in BBC R2 Folk Awards – Musician Of The Year category – and Rob Harbron are each regarded as masters of their instruments and are involved in collaborations with a huge range of artists.
Andy Cutting is a unique player of the melodeon, known for his work with Martin Simpson, Blowzabella, Chris Wood, June Tabor, Kate Rusby, to name a few.
Rob Harbron has practically reinvented the English concertina and is known for his work with The Full English, Jon Boden and the Remnant Kings, Fay Hield, Emma Reid and the English Acoustic Collective.
Sam Sweeney, fiddle player for Bellowhead, works with Jon Boden and The Remnant Kings, The Full English, Fay Hield and the Hurricane Party, and his own project Made in the Great War.
Their music is firmly rooted in the English tradition but brings something fresh, with ancient tunes sitting harmoniously alongside new compositions. Sophisticated and honest, measured yet spontaneous, there is nothing else that sounds quite like Leveret.
