Set in a tiny, remote village in the Argentinean mountains, the film gets its narrative from the growing friendship between a shepherd boy and a teacher from the city. Off screen, intensifying political activities contrast strongly with the peaceful simplicity of village life and these begin to provide an unexpected education for both characters alike.
