Fair Oriana are  London based soprano duo who specialise in singing historical repertoire of the 16th, 17th, and 18th centuries. Both known for the clarity of their voices Angela Hicks and Penelope Appleyard are two of the UK’s leading young early music sopranos. they both perform in Dame Emma Kirkby’s ensemble Dowland Works, where they dicovered a mutual interest in performance practice, gesture and commitment to text. often noted for their uncommonly well-matched blend and ‘silvery’ sound when singing together, they enjoy a shared wavelength for interpretation and an ambition to bring a fresh image to the genre.
